Pierre–Yves Rochon and his eponymous firm have been internationally renowned for their luxury hospitality and residential environments since 1979. As Global Design Director, Mr. Rochon establishes the design philosophies and creative strategies for PYR. His knowledge of a wide range of design principles and international cultures creates the foundation for each project’s sense of timeless style, comfort and elegance.
He sets the firm’s high design standards, ensuring that projects exceed owner and operator expectations. Every project is approached with an open mind, beginning with the client’s vision and business goals. He strives to enhance every aspect of the guest experience while reflecting each location's culture, history and geography.
Mr. Rochon is globally recognized for his exceptional work, and has been inducted into Hospitality Design’s Platinum Circle. He was named “Most Influential Hotel Designer” by the Asia Pacific Hotel Design Association in 2015, and named “Designer of the Year” by Boutique Design in 2012. He won the “Outstanding Contribution Award” at the European Hotel Design Awards and continues to oversee the design of projects that are consistently awarded by Forbes, Travel+Leisure, and Condé Nast Traveler.
Mr. Rochon studied at L’École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts et Arts Appliqués in Toulouse, graduating first in his class.
